Built by a dad and son in Boise, Idaho
High Valley Geosystems is a tech geek and amateur geologist who’s fascinated by seismic data, and his son, a kid who was flying drones and building things on a 3D printer at 10 and is now starting his mining career at CWI. Every tool on this site, from the Shake Network to the field calculators, is something we dreamed up, argued about, tested and built together.
We're having a blast doing it. Each project teaches us something new about Idaho's geology and the people who work it, and we're sharing it all for free along the way. If you have an idea for a tool or a small project, tell us. We'd love to build it with you.

Projects where Jack practices his CWI skills. First up, machine-learning earthquake picking on our Raspberry Shake station.
We love helping Idaho geologists, seismology hobbyists, landowners and mining teams with small projects, like the earthquake-detection analysis we ran for a fellow Raspberry Shake enthusiast (see the Field Lab). That could be a dataset that needs a second look, a station that needs monitoring, a map, or a tool. Send it our way at jack@highvalleygeosystems.com.
We operate Raspberry Shake station AM.R1CFD in High Valley, Idaho (44.234°N, 116.147°W). View the live R1CFD feed →

Co-Founder & Principal
A longtime technology professional and amateur geologist who runs the AM.R1CFD seismic station in High Valley and builds the free tools on this site with Jack.

Co-Founder & Field Technical Lead
Mining Technician student at College of Western Idaho, focused on geotechnical field work, and a summer 2026 intern at Perpetua Resources on the Stibnite Gold Project. Jack and Tony built the free tools on this site together: the projects map, permitting tracker, calculators, Field Lab and Idaho Shake Network.
